Pyrite is the most widely distributed sulfide mineral in the earth's crust. In addition to pegmatism, it can be formed in various geological processes. Those of endogenous origin are mainly produced in hydrothermal deposits.Pyrite can be used in the preparation of a pyrite electrode; it can also be used to extract gold from pyrite.

Chemical properties:

The main component of pyrite is FeS2, which has an equiaxed crystal system. Common crystal forms are cube, pentagonal dodecahedron and octahedron. It is light coppery-yellow with green-black streaks. Metallic luster. Hardness 6~6.5. Fragile. The fracture is uneven.

production method:

Most small and medium-sized pyrite mines use underground mining methods, and the main mining method is the segmented caving method. A few large mines with shallow deposits use open-pit mining. The general process flow of pit mining and the general process flow of open pit mining are the same as that of "phosphate rock". The main mineral separation methods include flotation, gravity separation and magnetic separation. The general mineral processing process is the same as that of "phosphate rock". For single pyrite, polymetallic pyrite and coal-based pyrite with less carbonaceous content, the grinding-classification-flotation process is generally used; for coal-based pyrite ore with more carbonaceous and clay content, the heavy-duty process is used. Choose a flotation or flotation-re-selection combined process.
